Nokia’s new TVC to promote handsets that can record ring tones is out. Made by W+K (?) it is set in a futuristic town where an emperor settles for his bathtub duck’s ‘quack’ as his ringtone, only after rejecting several bizarre auditions. Didn’t make me laugh. The idea had potential but the ad leaves you disappointed. No?

Advertising for cars is such a tough job. Take the case of this new campaign for Subaru Forester, Canada. For a non-car enthusiast like me, the SUV looks like any other SUV. The brief was to launch the 2009 Subaru Forester. Ho-hum. Like all latest models one needs to highlight the souped up features. One could go anywhere with that ‘non-brief’. Came across this new spot for the Volkswagen Golf. The track for the ad is made up from the sounds recorded in and around the Golf at the shoot. The track was created by Paul Hartnoll of the electronic band Orbital. The idea is to convey that our ordinary, everyday experiences can become out of the ordinary in a Golf.
