If you happen to be in Bangalore, one way of you getting to know about the Theatre for Children event is through an outdoor campaign. And chances are you will see this billboard for a fleeting moment, from a typical billboard-viewing distance – not up close & personal like a print ad.
When I saw the hoarding first, frankly, I struggled to figure out what it was for. And I still couldn’t do so after straining myself to see what it was for. Not exactly how outdoor should work. It just had too many elements, I thought. And then I saw the print ads and said, ‘hey, these look good!’. Hmm, the trouble with adding sundry stuff like event info, sponsors and such. Happens all the time. Nice, visually pleasing idea on the print medium seeks suitable partner in outdoor.
