In case you haven’t come across this video (which has been doing the email rounds recently), here it is. This demo — from Pattie Maes’ lab at MIT, spearheaded by Pranav Mistry — was the buzz of TED. It’s a wearable device with a projector that paves the way for profound interaction with our environment. Imagine "Minority Report" and then some.
Aapro Pranav is currently a Research Assistant at Fluid Interfaces, MIT Media Lab. He is a graduate from Nirma Institute of Technology of Gujarat University and has also worked with Microsoft, India. Couldn’t help getting parochial and feeling good about an Indian who is at the heart of this project. Imagine reading the Times of India and having to see video annotations from Times Now on it. Now I am having second thoughts about how welcome this technology would be.
