Came across a campaign for Polo – the mint with a hole, in Ads of the World. We’ve seen several executions of the ‘Mint with a hole idea in India’, including this cracking one created by Freddie Birdy & Naved in the early ’90s. I found these expressions fresh and unique.

Over the years, there’s been seen a steady improvement in idea and more importantly, execution of creative ideas from the Gulf. Here are a few that illustrate the point:

Al-Ain Wildlife Park. Claim: Now open till midnight.

Don’t let them (pests) get comfortable, says this cheeky ad for Boecker Public Health.

Beautifully art-directed ad for Career Junction: put your skills to better use.

Dial Hand Sanitizer: Anywhere.

Ingenious ambient idea for Duracell torches.

Ad for EA’s Medal of Honour, which won several awards.

An obvious scam for Dubai Cosmetic Surgery. Funny, nevertheless.

Whacky idea for Kit-Kat, Have a Break.

An ad for a push up bra in Wonderbra territory.

Part of the scam-ifested work from FP7, Doha for the Dubai Lynx Festival. Samsung: get your clothes to spill the dirt out.

Interesting approach to sell Volvo cars in Dubai, presumably from a dealer.
