Wish more journalists would do this. In a case of great follow-up journalism, The Industry Standard went back to seven of the harshest critics of the iPhone when it was launched. Now that it is a success, Industry Standard went back to those critics and asked them what they thought now.

Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft was one of the harshest critics. He scoffed, ” Five hundred dollars? Fully subsidized, with a plan?” Ballmer said. “That is the most expensive phone in the world. And it doesn’t appeal to business because it doesn’t have a keyboard.”

When contacted for the reactions now, after the confirmed success of iPhone, Steve Ballmer was ‘not available for comment, thanks to his busy schedule’. Ahem.
