In these days of integrated ads where a TV spot urges you to tweet with a hashtag or predict the way the ad ends by participating in a Facebook contest or some such, it is good to see the good old TV commercial make a splash. A new ad for Guinness is making the rounds of ad blogs and mainstream media, simply because it is a heartwarming story well told.

Guinness introduced their ‘made of more’ tag line recently and has a track record of great advertising, largely from AMV BBDO. Love to see TV commercials that tell a story well in 60 seconds or less and the impact they have is strengthening the feel-good factor for the brand subliminally. No QR codes to scan, apps to download or tweets to be sent. Ah, what a relief.
