Between bookmarked sites and subscribed feeds which showcase advertising, I come across many new creative ideas every week. As with advertising in real life, only a handful are memorable. Here are my picks for the week ending 21st August 2015.
It was a slow news week for me as far as spotting interesting creative ideas, or maybe I missed out on a few. Here are the ones which caught my eye:
Tiny Dancer – John Lewis
Some agency-client partnerships produce outstanding creative work consistently. The John Lewis-adam&eveDDB relationship is certainly one of them. Aside from the famous Christmas adverts, the agency works on other businesses of the brand too. This one for John Lewis insurance is spot on – everything from the simple story line, the track, the casting and the moment when the penny drops about the category, simply works.
Truecaller
I thought there was a powerful idea in ‘take the right call’ which integrates well with the core proposition of Truecaller. While Nawazuddin’s story is a fit the execution could have perhaps have been more stirring emotionally.

Booking.com: #WingItYeah
Summer means lots of holiday snaps posted on social media platforms. Booking.com is transforming such snaps into gifs partnering with four well-known GIF artists. According to this article: Photos will be selected from shots posted on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #WingItYeah, or on Booking.com’s Facebook page. Once the artists have created GIFs from the original shots the results will be posted on Booking.com’s website and on GIF platform Giphy.

I thought it was a simple, yet clutter breaking idea that understands consumer behaviour.
