D&AD Call for Entries: Win and #DieHappy

Winning a ‘pencil’ – a reference to winning at the D&AD Awards is a big high for creative folks – be it in pure design or advertising. Three kinds of awards are given out: a Yellow Pencil (formerly known as a silver award),  a Black Pencil (formerly known as a gold award) and a White Pencil (creative idea that changes the world for the better), across various categories: print ads, product design (Apple was named the best brand and the best design studio of the last 50 years) and spatial design to name a few. What makes it coveted is the tough selection process and only the very best get the pencils.

A new ‘call for entries’ campaign for the 2013 awards is now on the  D&AD website. The strap line ‘Win and Die Happy’ succinctly sums up the worth of a pencil to the creative folks. The campaign features famous One Show winners staring happily at imminent ‘death’. Because, ‘the end of the world may be nigh, but our D&AD winners couldn’t care less. They can Die Happy’. The ads also feature our very own Agnello Dias of Taproot India.
