Just how do they do it? Nike and Wieden+Kennedy always seem to create magic with their advertising. The latest ad is even better. The ad is story telling at its best. In fact it looks like a miniature version of classic animation films from Hollywood – the ones Pixar excels in.
‘The Last Game’ is a story about risky football versus safe football.
The scientist and the clones want to prove that riskless football is more effective.
Ronaldo Fenomeno and the original players disagree, and they are willing to risk everything to prove the scientist wrong.
There is only one way to know who is right: the Last Game.
Agency: Wieden + Kennedy
Riveting stuff. Even a non-soccer fan like yours truly just loved it. The ad ends with a link to a sign up for the upcoming Nike Football mobile app.
The ad would make for a great full length feature film, much like The Lego Movie. This is the kind of stuff which makes advertising professionals feel proud about their industry and attracts new talent into the fold. Hats off.
