As I have said many times here, I love print ads. One of the first categories I checked out at the 2016 WPPed Cream awards was print (I found some cool outdoor work too). Herewith a few which caught my eye:
1. Opel – Invisible Dangers
To promote the Opel intellilux LED lights, Y&R created a series of print ads dramatising how this new technology works. They showcased the illuminating power of the lights by printing ads with reflective ink. The reader is then urged to take a picture of the ad with the flash of a smartphone. After the picture is taken, one can see one danger that the naked eye can`t see.

There may not be a totally unexpected surprise with what one sees but the interactivity and the involvement a print ad evokes is nice.

2. Getty Images
Stock photos have been the butt of many jokes. This one too brings a smile as it makes light of cliches like ‘smiling woman in the kitchen’.

3. Forbes
A beautifully art directed campaign which reinforces the brand’s equation with serious money.

4. Penguin books
A campaign which is sure to bring a smile on to the face of book lovers.
